Our Feelings in Action group helps kids build emotional awareness and early self-management skills. This OT-led group uses the Zones of Regulation® curriculum. Participants learn to notice the body signals that show how they are feeling. They also learn to name their different feelings. When kids understand their emotions, they can better manage them in different settings. Kids learn and practice strategies to stay focused, calm, and connected with others.
To foster cohesive group dynamics, our self-regulation groups are open to children who have received occupational therapy or speech-language pathology services at Red Oak Centre within the past 18 months.

Group FAQs
What if I can’t attend/miss a session?
Group fees are collected in full at the time of registration. Missed sessions will be charged to ensure consistency and commitment to the group. All fees are non-refundable and missed sessions are processed as no-shows.
What if my child is just outside the listed age range?
Contact the facilitator of the group. They can discuss your child’s needs with you, assess whether the group’s age range skews younger or older, and help determine if it’s the right fit.
Are group sessions covered by insurance?
Groups are typically facilitated by occupational therapists and billed accordingly. We do not offer direct billing, so please contact your insurance provider to confirm your coverage.
