Leah Izenberg is a co-founder and the executive director of Red Oak. As executive director, Leah provides both the strategic leadership and the day-to-day direction that keep Red Oak thriving. She guides the centre’s long-term vision, oversees operational systems, and ensures programs, services, and team structures evolve in step with families’ needs. Leah leads cross-department collaboration, strengthens clinical and administrative processes, and helps cultivate a warm, dependable culture where practitioners feel supported and families experience seamless, client-centred care.
Leah holds a Master of Education in Cognitive Studies and brings more than 20 years of experience as a literacy specialist to her leadership role. Before opening Red Oak, she founded a literacy centre dedicated to helping people of all ages with developmental disabilities build essential literacy skills. About ten years ago, Leah began noticing a gap in accessible, integrated support for families navigating developmental, social, and learning challenges. Together with Dr Dahlia Fisher, they envisioned a centre that could bring coordinated care under one roof—a vision that became The Red Oak Centre, which they co-founded in 2016.
