Paolina Onorato is a Ph.D level practicum student completing her degree at York University in Clinical-Developmental Psychology. At Red Oak, Paolina provides evidence-based psychological services to children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, OCD, emotion regulation difficulties, and low mood challenges.

Treatment Philosophy
Paolina’s practice is based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), integrating additional types of therapy such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, when appropriate. She strives to create a strengths-based, emotionally safe and comfortable environment where children and adolescents can better understand their challenges and develop the skills to thrive.

Paolina’s research for her Master degree focused on how various emotion regulation strategies may be linked to well-being. She has completed her psychological training in assessment and intervention at the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board and The Hospital for Sick Children, respectively, where she worked with children and adolescents with a broad range of concerns and diagnoses along with their caregivers.
