Stephanie Bushnik

Math and Science Specialist | B.Sc.

Stephanie Bushnik is a science and math teacher at The Red Oak Centre. She provides individualized academic support to high school students. Her sessions are tailored to the needs of each student and may include enrichment and/or remedial support to fill gaps in knowledge and skills. Stephanie creates a nurturing, supportive environment where her students build skills to promote increased confidence and academic success.

Stephanie has experience working with students with exceptionalities, including ADHD, ASD and learning disabilities.

Stephanie was inspired to begin her teaching career in 2007, while she was completing an Honours B.Sc. in Physics and Biology at the University of Toronto and working as a math and science tutor. In her sessions, she aims to foster the same sense of awe and appreciation for the subjects that made her fall in love with math and science.

Along with Stephanie’s work at The Red Oak Centre, she is also a co-founder and vice principal at CaST (City-as-School Toronto), an independent, experiential high school that uses the city – its parks, museums, and galleries - as its classroom.
