Meera Premnazeer

Occupational Therapist | MSc. OT, OT Reg. (Ont.), PhD Student

Meera Premnazeer is a registered occupational therapist providing children and their caregivers with strategies and skills to successfully engage in daily life. Meera has experience working with children who identify as neurodiverse, who have been diagnosed with ADHD, ASD, developmental disabilities, acquired brain injury, and learning disabilities. Meera treats each client with a strength-based approach and tailors her session to be interactive. Meera has experience implementing strategies to support a range of needs including sensory, handwriting, fine and gross motor, social and emotional regulation.

When Meera is not working at The Red Oak Centre, she is also a current PhD student at the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute (RSI) within the University of Toronto. Her research is focused on improving healthcare delivery for patients with stroke and their caregivers across Canada. Her passion and research centre around the area of patient- and family-centered care which she hopes to implement with the families that she works with at The Red Oak Centre. Meera has received funding for her research through the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and Gwen Bell Endowment Fund from RSI.

Meera completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Psychology and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. Meera is bilingual and provides services in English and Tamil. Meera continues to engage in professional development opportunities and has participated in numerous courses and workshops (i.e., Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) and solution focused coaching). Meera is committed to improving the lives of her clients and their families.
