Lisa Kobrin

Lisa Kobrin is an executive function coach and literacy specialist at the Red Oak Centre. Lisa’s nurturing and engaging teaching style helps her connect with her students. For over 15 years, Lisa has provided targeted and tailored literacy support for students with differing learning needs. She works collaboratively with parents and educators to support her student’s learning. 

In addition to providing literacy and executive function support to children and adolescents, Lisa provides teacher training in literacy development and didactic workshops on interactive and engaging virtual spaces. She has also worked as an OISE faculty advisor at the University of Toronto’s Master of Teaching program.

Lisa has almost thirty years of cumulative experience as a classroom teacher, literacy consultant, special education coordinator and teacher mentor.She completed her Master of Education at OISE/UT in the department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at the University of Toronto. Lisa is trained in Reading Recovery and the Science of Reading literacy instruction. She is trained by Peg Dawson as an executive function coach and is listed as a recommended executive function coach on Peg Dawson’s website. Her writing about executive functions is set to be included in Peg Dawson’s upcoming book to be released in June 2023. Lisa is also a member of the York Region Bullying Prevention Partnership which enables the mobilization and awareness of bullying prevention strategies.
