Dr. Naomi Tal

Dr. Naomi Tal is a registered psychologist and art therapist, specializing for the past 20 plus years in helping children and adolescents who experience anxiety, depression, anger, or self-regulation difficulties that interfere with their everyday functioning. Using a combination of cognitive-behavioural principles and strategies, creativity, visual arts and humour, Dr. Naomi Tal helps her clients build on the knowledge, motivation, and strengths they already possess to gain mastery over their emotions.

New skills are taught incrementally with warmth and accessibility. Dr. Naomi Tal believes in engaging parents in the therapeutic process, working collaboratively with parents to provide support for her clients as they gain new skills.

Dr. Naomi Tal has worked as a school psychologist at the Toronto District School Board, and in private practice conducting psychoeducational assessments and providing academic interventions and therapy. Dr. Naomi Tal has taught educational psychology courses both in Toronto and Israel and has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in the area of reading disability. She holds a Masters Degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute in New York, and a Ph.D. from O.I.E.E/U of Toronto.
