Ashlea Mohos

Special Education Specialist, Educational Consultant | OCT

Ashlea Mohos is an educational consultant and special education specialist (OISE). In her role as an educational consultant, she supports families with school choice by helping families determine the best fit of school for their child and family. Ashlea helps parents navigate the process of school selection, application and admission. As a special education specialist, Ashlea works to build academic and executive function skills while supporting the social-emotional well being of her students. With a compassionate lens and strength-based approach to learning, Ashlea creates and implements learning plans tailored to each student’s unique needs and abilities.

She helps her students to develop an understanding of their learning profile so they can self-advocate and learn with increased independence and accountability. Her approach is grounded in research and fosters a growth mindset. At the core of the support Ashlea provides to children and their families, is her belief in the importance of a strong and collaborative relationship.

Ashlea previously taught Grades 4-6 at The Mabin School as a learning strategies teacher. In her role as a learning strategist, she supported families with the transition process from their graduating year at Mabin to their next school. She helped families with school choice and the school admissions process. Ashlea received her Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University and her Bachelor of Education from The University of Toronto (OISE). She has received coaching training for educators from Graydin.
