Occupational Therapist | MSc. OT, OT Reg. (Ont.)
Veronika is a licensed occupational therapist with a passion for supporting children and their families through a strengths-based, client-centred approach. She has experience working with individuals across the lifespan. At Red Oak, she is focused on promoting mental wellness, emotional regulation, and functional independence in children and youth. Veronika supports children in areas such as sensory processing, self-esteem, executive functioning, and participation in daily activities.
She earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from McMaster University. Her educational background included coursework in areas such as child growth and development and motor learning, which continues to inform her holistic approach to pediatric care. She also brings experience working with individuals across various developmental levels and with diverse populations, including those with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, anxiety, and depression.
Veronika incorporates sensory-based therapeutic approaches to support children’s regulation and engagement, using calming environments and multi-sensory strategies to help them feel safe, grounded, and ready to participate. She helps children build emotional awareness and resilience by teaching practical, developmentally appropriate tools to manage big feelings and navigate challenges.
Veronika is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where children feel seen, heard, and empowered, and she works closely with families to build individualized strategies that help children thrive in their daily lives. Alongside her clinical work, Veronika has been involved in research related to severe mental health, further deepening her understanding of complex needs and evidence-informed practice. She is currently receiving mentorship at the Red Oak Centre to continue developing her skills and provide the most effective, compassionate care for each child she supports.
