Clinical Expertise
Self-Regulation
Over the past 6 years, Monique had helped children and adults develop self-regulation skills by teaching strategies to recognize, understand, and manage their emotions and behaviors in various settings. She helps children build awareness of their emotional states, recognize triggers, and apply coping tools to manage behaviors effectively.
Fine and Gross Motor Skills
Monique supports children in improving both fine and gross motor skills essential for independence and participation in everyday tasks. Through play-based and functional activities, she helps develop strength, coordination, and motor planning—whether it’s writing, using utensils, or navigating playground equipment.
Executive Function Skill Building
Monique guides children in developing executive functioning skills such as organization, task initiation, working memory, and problem-solving. Through structured activities and personalized strategies, she helps children learn how to plan, manage time, and follow through on tasks. These foundational cognitive skills support improved performance in academic settings and daily routines.
Treatment Philosophy
Monique aims to support the individual as a whole – focusing on physical, mental, social, emotional and environmental factors that impact participation and engagement in daily life.
Through her client- and family-centred approach, she aims to identify barriers to participation and engagement, while assisting clients in implementing strategies to reach their goals.
She brings a unique lens to her practice through her experience working within neuro-rehab and mental health, with previous experience in crisis management.
