Speech and Language Therapy is available to children and adolescents who present with speech, language and communication difficulties.

Presenting concerns may be in the areas of: 

Social Communication

Executive Functioning

Expressive and Receptive



Phonological Awareness 

Augmentative Communication

Selective Mutism

Clients may present with social communication struggles, learning disabilities, Autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders. All Speech-Language Pathologists at the Red Oak are registered with Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPO).



Speech-Language Pathologists conduct an assessment using standardized tests and/or informal methods in order to determine the specific difficulties being experienced and to set specific goals for treatment.


Sessions are 50 minutes in length. Interventions are evidence-based and are tailored to meet the individual needs of every client. Speech-Language Pathologists also conduct school visits and coach parents and/or teachers, as appropriate.
