Joan Vertes is an occupational therapist specializing in assessment and treatment of children using a sensory integration frame of reference. She has a keen interest in leading sensory motor therapy groups for children and parents. She has over 30 years of experience working with children with sensory processing disorder, developmental coordination disorder, learning disabilities and ADHD.
She is an occupational therapist working in the Department of Rehabilitation Services at The Hospital for Sick Children and in private practice. She has a status appointment (lecturer) in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. Joan has received awards for teaching (U of T) and for her work in research (Canadian Association of Paediatric Health Centres)
