Dr. Dahlia Fisher

Dr. Dahlia Fisher is a co-founder of The Red Oak Centre and a registered clinical and health psychologist, specializing in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Concordia University in Montreal. Dr. Dahlia Fisher’s areas of clinical expertise include helping children and adolescents cope with anxiety, stress, and depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), adolescent issues and adjustment disorders.

She provides consultation to parents around behaviour management and best parenting practices. Dr. Dahlia Fisher also helps children and adolescents cope with the psychological impact of serious health concerns.

Dr. Dahlia Fisher’s approach to assessment and treatment is grounded in evidence-based methods. She forms a collaborative and trusting relationship with her clients and works with parents when appropriate. Dr. Dahlia Fisher’s clinical work is guided by a flexible approach, drawing upon client-centred, solution-focused, and strength-based techniques. She uses cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) techniques, incorporating mindfulness and motivational strategies when needed. Dr. Dahlia Fisher uses a collaborative-problem solving approach (CPS) when working with parent-child relationships.

Dr. Dahlia Fisher completed her training at Sick Kids Hospital and held subsequent staff positions at Sick Kids Hospital in the Department of Psychology and in the Division of Adolescent Medicine. She worked for six years at The Clinic on Dupont, one of Toronto’s leading private practices, and helped to establish its child psychology department.
